Amoxicillin / clavulanic acid is used to treat a variety of infections caused by bacteria. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medicine is also used to treat streptococcal pharyngitis, which is a bacterial infection caused by the streptococcal bacteria, and also upper respiratory infections. It may be used to treat sinusitis, cystitis, and pneumonia. Do not take amoxicillin/clavulanic acid together with penicillin or other antibiotics if you have a history of allergy reaction to penicillin or other antibiotics. You may take this medicine with or without meals. Drink a full glass of water with this medicine. You should continue to take this medicine even if you feel better after taking this medicine.

Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily.
